Where are you from originally? How did you end up here?

Strangely enough, I was born in Anchorage, Alaska as my pop’s career took he and my mom to the beautiful land.  We lived there for about 4 years then returned to our family in Santa Fe where I graduated from Santa Fe High School.  I then attended University of New Mexico and thereafter ventured out to San Antonio, TX where I ultimately earned my law degree from St. Mary’s School of Law.

Tell us about your occupation.

I have been practicing law at Sutin, Thayer & Browne for 20 years where I am a shareholder and on the Board of Directors. I practices exclusively in the area of family law, including divorce, child custody and time sharing, child support, alimony, and the division of complex assets (professional practices, businesses) in the divorce context. I understand that going through a divorce is one of the most difficult times of a person’s life on many levels. I approaches each case by providing the client with an understanding of the legal issues, I provide knowledge about available options and I attempt to first resolve the matter amicably. If it appears being reasonable is not working, then I have the experience to be a court advocate. Overall I work with my clients to try and help them be the best versions of themselves during turmoil for the best interest of the family.

Why did you join Rotary and what is your favorite Rotary experience?

My family and the firm culture taught me the importance of being involved and giving back to the community. My involvement has proved to me the incredible difference a group can make.  While I knew the members of Rotary Del Norte were dedicated and generous people, after I survived a bus crash, the love and support poured out by our Rotarians was overwhelming.  I’m forever hookedJglobally.

What does your perfect weekend look like?

My perfect weekend looks like lots of family and friends at the house enjoying the food and one another.  I’m very much looking forward to the day when we can all be joined together!
