Each year, as part of our Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program, I have had the privilege of interviewing student applicants-and each year, I walk away inspired and reassured. This year was no different.
Meeting these young leaders is a highlight of my Rotary calendar. They come from diverse backgrounds, but all share a spark: curiosity, compassion, and the drive to make a difference.
Many already serve in leadership roles at school or in service clubs, and all are eager to grow, collaborate, and lead. Their optimism is contagious. Their creativity is energizing. Their resilience reminds me why investing in youth leadership is one of the most powerful things we do as Rotarians.
If you have not yet taken part in our RYLA committee, I urge you to get involved. Join the RYLA committee, prospect for candidates, help conduct interviews, or volunteer at camp-it is an incredible opportunity to take a front-row seat to the future. You will walk away not just impressed, but truly hopeful.
The next generation is ready. Let us remain the trusted hands that guide, support, and encourage their growth.
Proud to play a part in their leadership journey!
