APD Police Chief Mike Geier has more than 43 years of police experience, including 20 years with the Albuquerque Police Department. He left APD to become Chief of Police in Rio Rancho for three years, before being appointed as the new APD Chief ealier this year. Chief Geier served as commander for nearly five years in APD's Criminal Investigation Division, and before that he served as the Commander of the Department's Southeast Area Command.
