Our Projects
Christmas Angel Tree Project
Each year the Albuquerque Del Norte Rotary selects a charitable organization the benefits children and asks to provide all the children with Christmas gifts for themselves and other family members, if needed. In years past Albuquerque Del Norte Rotary has worked with ABQ Safehouse and other organizations. For Christmas 2020, Angel Tree has a new twist as our club's signature annual project Scott Stafford, Del Norte Rotarian who also serves as Assistant District Governor, announced that our club's Angel Tree project has a new twist due to the COVID-19 virus and its related restrictions. In keeping with the District's desire to address COVID-related needs our recipient this year will be the Navajo Hope Project to provide gifts in the form of coats, blankets, toys and games to the Chapter House at Crownpoint, NM (near Gallup).
Manzano Mesa Elementary Backpack Program
During the school year volunteers from Albuquerque Rotary Del Norte, with partnership from Costco, Sam's Club and other organizations, fill backpacks each Friday for weekend meals for eligible students from Manzano Mesa Elementary School. These backpacks provide 6 meals for each student to get them through the weekend.
